What we do

Two disciplines, one team.

Most authors stitch together an editor, a designer, a distributor, and a marketing partner — and hope they talk to each other. Serpenti brings publishing craft and audience craft under one roof, so the book is made well and released with care.

Pillar 01

Publishing craft

The professional work of getting a book made, shelf-ready, and available to the readers who want it.

  • Developmental editing, copyediting & proofreading
  • Cover design & interior layout, print-ready
  • ISBN registration & metadata optimization
  • Retail & library distribution — 40,000+ outlets
  • Studio-quality audiobook production

Pillar 02

Voice, image & reach

The parts of a release that most publishers don't do well: audio, translation, foreign rights, and clearance.

  • Literary translation & foreign edition design
  • Sub-rights & foreign rights support
  • Manuscript clearance & E&O preparation
  • Book trailers, launch kits & publicity outreach
  • Series identity systems that hold across a backlist

Books we've had a hand in

Recent work from the studio.

A selection of titles Serpenti contributed to — some as publisher of record, others through a single element: cover design, editorial, audio production, launch, or distribution setup.

Most studios finish a book. We finish it twice — then we sit with it for a day, and start again if it’s not right.

What authors say

From the storytellers.

The cover Serpenti made for Sanctuary is the first thing every reader mentions before they open the book. That’s not a small thing.

Karen East · Sanctuary

I’ve published four books before this one. This is the first time the process felt like a partnership instead of a transaction.

Dan Lattanzio · Cardinal Obsession

They read Through Hindsight the way I hoped a reader would — slowly, carefully, without hurry. That’s what I paid for. That’s what I got.

Lenora J. Harris · Through Hindsight
FAQ

Answers before you ask.

Do I keep the rights to my book?

Yes — 100%. This is a services engagement, not a traditional deal. You retain full ownership of your work and all of your royalties. We provide the professional labor; the book stays yours.

How is this different from a traditional publisher?

A traditional publisher takes your rights and a share of royalties in exchange for doing the work — if they accept you at all. Serpenti does that same professional work for a fee, with no gatekeeping, and you keep control, rights, and royalties.

What does it cost?

Storyteller packages start at $2,499 CAD and go up to $14,999 CAD, depending on scope. Every service is also available à la carte. Commissioned work for houses and rights holders is quoted per project.

Where will my book be available?

Distribution to Amazon, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, IngramSpark, and 40,000+ retail and library outlets worldwide. Audiobooks reach Audible, Spotify, Apple Books, and Google Play.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your first consultation is completely free with no obligation — it's a real conversation about your book and a plan, not a sales call.
