Serpenti is a creative studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, working with storytellers and the houses that carry their titles into the world.
We are small on purpose. We take on a limited number of projects each season, and we say no to more work than we say yes to. What follows is how we work, and why.
Every project is run by people chosen for it, not assigned. A narrator is cast because their voice suits the story. A translator is matched because they read in the destination language the way a reader does.
At each stage someone is asked to make a decision — not to tick a box. We read before we scope. We scope before we price. We work in rounds, not revisions.
Someone at the studio has final eyes on everything that leaves. A standard only holds when someone is willing to say not yet when not yet is the honest answer.
Where a client wants a reference, we ask permission first. Where a client wants to stay quiet about having worked with us, we stay quiet too.
We built Serpenti because the studios we wanted to work with did not exist for the kinds of titles we cared about. Most of what is available is either too fast, too templated, or too cheap to sustain the craft the work deserves.
We keep it small so it stays that way.
